We pledge to improve our girls’ lives,
with our love, concern and dedication. Our vision
is to produce outstanding citizens through holistic
development of neglected girl children,
thereby bringing them into the mainstream of society.
To achieve its mission, Amcha Ghar
is firmly committed to values that underpin all of

Amcha Ghar’s mission is based
on the UN Convention on the Rights
of the Child, including the right to protection
against all forms of neglect, cruelty and exploitation;
the right to affection, love and understanding; the
right to free education and to full opportunity for
play and recreation; the right to learn to be a useful
member of society and to develop individual abilities;
and the right to a peaceful world. Conflict isn't
always the result of war--poverty, desperation and
despair also create situations where children suffer
violence and neglect. Amcha Ghar works to create places
of safety where trained workers provides a climate
of support and friendship tailored to the needs of
young girls.
In lower-income Indian families, girls are often deprived
of educational opportunities. Amcha Ghar
strives to address this gender inequality by educating
residents in its own English Medium School. We do
accept that not all children are good at academics
and so we also promote vocational development. The
girls’ interests are encouraged and opportunities
are provided to pursue their aptitudes. We offer classes
in drawing, singing, music, self-defense, sewing,
and computer education. We hope that through a broad
spectrum of education, both academic and vocational,
the future will be rich with opportunity.
