Management
Amcha Ghar is registered as public
charitable Trust. The governing body consists
of seven members, of which 3 are women. The founder
and foundress reside with the beneficiaries at the
Home. The governing body meets at least once every
three months, with additional meetings as necessary
to plan and discuss developments of Amcha
Ghar. The Founder, Foundress, President,
Treasurer, and Executive members are directly
involved in the day-to-day management of the organization.
Other members volunteer periodically. All members
work on local fundraising.
Amcha Ghar committee members and
senior staff are well-acquainted with management programmes
related to NGOs. The Director (Foundress)
is professionally trained; senior staff are trained
in planning and management conducted by external agencies.
Amcha Ghar uses computerized programmes
and software for financial records and progress reports.

Mr. Anthony Peter Dias - Founder
Tony (Anthony) is a man of strong vision and dedication
towards social causes. Tony has an extensive business
background; he has run his own catering services for
over 20 years. His clientele includes the College
of Social Work, the Indian Navy, the Army, and Athletic
Associations. He holds a Bachelors degree in Electronics.
Tony has been married to Susheela Singh for 15 years,
and they share a very loving matrimonial life.

Ms. Susheela Singh - Foundress
Susheela Singh has over 20 years of experience in
social work. She obtained her Bachelors degree in
Social Work from Nirmala Niketan College of Social
Work - Mumbai, besides having a Masters degree in
Personal Management and Human Resource Development
from Bhavan’s College – Mumbai. She volunteered
and worked with Mumbai-based NGOs prior to co-founding
Amcha Ghar.

Mr. Prasad Pathak - Secretary
Prasad Narendra Pathak, born on 25.12.1967, is a great
sportsman and is the current secretary of Mumbai Suburban
District Athletic Association, having organizing many
sports and athletic competitions. He is a founding
member of Amcha Ghar and has extended all his support
and services to Amcha Ghar on many occasions. He holds
a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Ms. Ratnamala Khandere - Member
Ms. Ratnamala Khandere is a committed social worker
working with the street children of Mumbai and other
street childrens’ NGOs. As a woman, she is greatly
concerned with the wellbeing of girls living on the
street. She is associated with Amcha Ghar as a Life
member and extends all her support and help to us.

Mr. Allan Roberts - Member
Allan Roberts is a great boxer and has organized many
sports and athletic competitions. He has also worked
for the prestigious Raymond Apparel Company. With
his passion for social work and open heart towards
poor girl children, he is associated with Amcha Ghar
as a founder member, and extends all his support and
services as needed by us.

Mr. Rajan Patil - Member
Mr. Rajan Patil holds a degree in Bachelors of Arts,
and has his business in real estate developments and
construction. Based on his heartfelt concern for social
work and street children, he joined Amcha Ghar as
a founder member and continues to aid us with services
and support.

Ms. Anjela Umrail - Member
Ms. Anjela Umrail holds nursing degrees and is a registered
staff nurse by profession. She extends all her support
and medical professional services to Amcha Ghar beneficiaries
from time to time.
Chronology of Amcha
Ghar
1996 - Obtained license from Bombay Societies Trust
Act - 1860. Amcha Ghar was established with four children
and a
para-professional staff.
1997 - Obtained license from Bombay Public Trust
Act – 1950, PAN Card, introduced 3 new beneficiaries
and a new teacher.
1998 - Obtained license from 80G (Exemption under
Income – Tax).
1999 - Amcha Ghar received 3 new beneficiaries and
additional para-professional staff. Obtained prior
permission for FCRA
(Foreign Currency Regulation Act) license.
2000 - Amcha Ghar received 10 new beneficiaries.
Seven beneficiaries were re-united with their families
after Amcha Ghar’s
trained staff verified during field surveys that the
families were now living in hygienic and economical
stable
conditions.
2001 – Obtained permanent FCRA (Foreign Currency
Regulation Act) license. Conducted medical camps benefiting
70 local
patients.
2002 – Amcha Ghar School was established.
2003 - Amcha Ghar Balwadi (Kindergarden) was started
for the fisher folk children at Uttan-Chouk. Obtained
license under
The Women and Child Regulation Act.
2004 - Amcha Ghar Balwadis (Kindergardens) were
started for the local children at Uttan-Dongri and
Uttan-Rai.
2005 – Recruited new staff.
2006 – Celebration of Amcha Ghar’s 10th
Anniversary (for more info -link to News section)
2007 – Purchased of a plot of land in Murbad
(link to “where we work” and/or News).
2008 – Established Extension Home
in Bhayander for the beneficiaries who are working
and pursuing higher education.
