Amcha Ghar is now 13 years young
We are glad to inform you that Amcha Ghar family has successfully completed 13th years of service for girl child on 14th April 2009, at Uttan, Bhayander–West.
The success behind this is only with yours kindness, co-operation, and prayers. Thank you very much for your continuous support. Please pray for us! ! ! ! ! !
Achievements
Our children won six medals in the sports day conducted by concern India foundation at Priyadarsini Park Mumbai on 27 th & 28 th Dec.2008.
Amcha Ghar got ISO certificate
Celebrations
Amcha Ghar celebrated Republic day and Holi.
Amcha Ghar going to celebrate its 13 th birth day on 14 th April 2009.
Volunteers
Marcie from Canada was with us is three months. Sarah, a volunteer from Mexico will be with us from August and other two from Germany will come in the month of August for two months.
Programmes organized /participated
Amcha Ghar organized a four days community camp at Murbad on 20 th to 23 rd Feb 2009. Experts from different field visited the camp and deliver their sessions.
Officials from Women and child department inspected the home on 7 th Feb 2009 to issue certificate to all children under CWC to be allowed, to stay with Amcha Ghar's care and protection.
All Children attended ANSH 2009 at Bandra, workshop for orphans, physically and mentally challenged children organized by New Ansh School, Bandra.
12 of our Children attended ‘ Science toy making workshop' organized by Mohile Parikh Centre for the visual arts at Pune on 11 th Feb 2009.
We participated in the NGO Mela conducted by RGP group a Santa Cruz on 1 st March 2009. And exhibited the products made by Amcha Ghar residents.
International
Supporters to Visit Amcha Ghar
The next month will be a busy one as Amcha Ghar welcomes
supporters from around the world! Grace will come
from England to spend several days with the children
in late December. Marci will arrive from Canada in
January and stay for 3 months. In
addition to volunteers, one of Amcha Ghar’s
main donors will visit from Switzerland,
and Mr. Abhi Jeet will come to provide school bags & pencil boxes with each child’s photo on
behalf of an association of Maharashtran families
in Australia.
Local
Volunteers Support Amcha Ghar
Six B.Ed. students from Raul
College and one from Xavier’s
College have chosen to volunteer at Amcha
Ghar to fulfill their community service requirements.
Each student will spend 20 hours teaching
and playing with the girls. As part of their course
of studies, all volunteers will complete a journal
to document their service work. Amcha Ghar thanks
all the volunteers for lending a helping hand!
Extension
Home Launched
On 6 June, Amcha Ghar inaugurated
an Extension Home in Bhayander, 20 minutes
from the Mother House in Uttan. The new Home will
enable residents who have completed their 10th std.
to live in Bhayander in order to pursue employment
and higher studies. The girls will gain practical
experience living on their own while still supported
by Amcha Ghar — a vital step
in their growth as capable, successful young women.
