  Achievements

•  On 26th Jan 2011, website on Amcha Ghar School i.e. www.amchaghar.com was launched.

•  Children won six medals in the sports day conducted by concern India foundation at Priyadarshini Park Mumbai on 10th Jan 2011.

•  Three girls from Amcha Ghar appeared for S.S.C in 2010-2011 and passed out with good percentages.

•  S.S.C girls along with the social worker attended ‘’Awards for Academic Excellence ‘11” Awards Function organized by Global Education Trust. They were felicitated.

•  On 15th August 2011, Amcha Ghar Children attended a programme in Mulund organized by MT Educare.

•  Children won four medals in the sports day organized by Concern India Foundation in Priyadarshini Park on 4th Feb 2012.

•  Amcha Ghar got ISO certificate

  Local Volunteers support to Amcha Ghar

•  In the Month of February 2011, B.Ed. students, M.B.A students and other college students visited Amcha Ghar and spent some time with the girls. They taught candle making, Rangoli, Photography, Dance, jokes and Paper Bag Making. Children had a great time with them and also learnt new things from them.

•  In the month of June2011, two visitors from London visited Amcha Ghar for 4 days.

•  On 16th July 2011, 100 students from Queen Mary High School visited Amcha Ghar.

•  Two students doing M.S.W visited Amcha Ghar for their Field Work visit.


  Programmes organized /participated

•  On 6th Feb 2010, N.C.P.A Parikh group organized seminar at Pune on Art, and Kala Ghoda about ragas in music.

•  On 18th April, 2010 an event called ‘The Big One’ was organized to hunt the talent of Mira Road by the help of Mr.Sanjay Narang, Mr.Pravin Patil, Mr.Deepak Bhatija and Mr.Dias.

•  In June 2010 children visited to Deaf and Dumb Resident School at Bhiwandi.

•  In the month of September 2010, Smile group organized Zee TV Singing audition for children. Children gave the audition.

•  In October 2010, “REKI” was taught to kids to strengthen oneself with the universal energy.

•  In November 2010, children were given training by the Yoga Professionals at the camp by Naik Foundation.

•  Residential Counselor took session on “Self Awareness” and “Self Motivation”.

•  Leo groups of Lions took a session on Personality Development in Jan 2011.

•  In the Month of Jan 2011, Mr.Singh a Professional Trainer trained kids for the sports to be held by ‘Concern India Foundation’.

•  In the month of June 2011, children of Amcha Ghar prepared a Newspaper of Amcha Ghar.

•  Children had Drawing and Art Class in which they prepared birds out of waste papers, Rakhi, etc.

•  On the Eve of Raksha Bandhan, Mr.Anshu Sinha Visited Amcha Ghar and celebrated Raksha bandhan with girls.

•  On 22nd July 2011, 9th and 8th Std girls had a session on “High on Life” by Ms.Veera Davies.

•  On 28th July 2011, Children had a small session on Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam.

•  5th September 2011, children celebrated Teachers Day in Amcha Ghar School.

•  On every Sunday, children have a meeting with the social worker.

•  Children celebrated Christmas by doing a prayer in a church along with Ms,Jessie Abraham.

•  Children also celebrated New Year with our dear visitors.

•  9th Std Students went to National Park and attended a programme which was organized by Mohile Parikh Centre and Art Oxygen.

•  On 14th Jan 2012 Shiv Asmita Group organized Drawing competition for A.G Residents.They also organized different sessions for elder girls.


  Local Volunteers Support Amcha Ghar

Ms.Jesal Rana (MBA Student) from Whistling Woods International, Goregaon did her internship in our organization in the month of Jan 2012. She helped us in online marketing.


  Extension Home Launched

On 6 June, Amcha Ghar inaugurated an Extension Home in Bhayander, 20 minutes from the Mother House in Uttan. The new Home will enable residents who have completed their 10th std. to live in Bhayander in order to pursue employment and higher studies. The girls will gain practical experience living on their own while still supported by Amcha Ghar — a vital step in their growth as capable, successful young women.
