Amcha Ghar actively
works with a broad range of NGO’s
and institutions on a local, national,
and International level. We receive
referrals of residents from JAPU (juvenile
police unit) and several NGO’s working
on the streets of Mumbai, including Aakar,
Don Bosco, Social Community Development, and Prerena.
We are funded in part by Ankur,
the Smile Foundation, and the Association Kamatipura.
In addition, we work through a variety of media channels
and national/international forums to raise awareness
of the problems faced by vulnerable female children.
On a local Uttan community level,
there are 260 students currently
enrolled in Amcha Ghar School, 228
of which are from fisher folk families.
