Amcha Ghar's inauguration took place on April 14, 1996, thanks to the many social workers, lawyers, doctors, and well wishers who joined hands to give birth to the project.

Amcha Ghar is a residential home located in Uttan Village approximately 7-8 kilometers from the city of Bhayander. Its facilities provide resources for development of destitute girls from all over India. The main thrust of this organization is towards the children's education in an English Medium School. Amcha Ghar’s goal is for its inmates to gain a valuable education that will produce a self-sufficient individual who can manage in this fast paced and competitive world.

The children have gained a respected reputation throughout the community of Uttan for their demeanour and discipline in the locality. An identity of self-worth and acceptance is instilled in each child through the healthy, family environment provided at the Amcha Ghar Home.

The Amcha Ghar organization has started a government-recognized school for the Home as well as the surrounding community.
